You picked Edith Stein. The answer is Corrie ten Boom.
Which Dutch watchmaker hid Jews from the Nazis and wrote “The Hiding Place”?
Why the answer is Corrie ten Boom
Corrie ten Boom and her family lived above their watch shop in Haarlem, the Netherlands. During the German occupation they built a secret room behind a false wall in Corrie’s bedroom and sheltered Jews and resistance workers.
In 1944 the family was betrayed and arrested. Corrie’s father died within days, and she and her sister Betsie were sent to Ravensbrück concentration camp, where they held secret Bible studies. Betsie died there. Corrie was released, she later learned, because of a clerical error, shortly before the women her age were killed.
After the war, she traveled the world speaking about forgiveness, once shaking the hand of a former guard from Ravensbrück. Her book The Hiding Place was made into a film in 1975.
